At Richland Creek Farm & Market, we love sharing the story behind what we grow, make and bring to your table. So when Arkansas Farm Bureau recently featured our farm in its story, “South Arkansas Swamp Jelly: A Delicacy,” we were truly honored.
The article shines a spotlight on one of our favorite South Arkansas native fruits, the mayhaw and the unique story behind the little red berries that have become such a special part of our farm.
But there’s another part of the story we’re especially excited to share.
Richland Creek Farm & Market was part of the 2025 Arkansas Farm Bureau Farm Trail, a program created by Arkansas Farm Bureau to connect consumers with farms and ranches across the state. The Farm Trail gives you an opportunity to get out on the road, visit local farms, meet the families who grow and make your food, and experience Arkansas agriculture firsthand.
And we think that’s something worth celebrating.
Our farm is located in South Arkansas, where the landscape and seasons have helped shape what we grow and produce.
One of our specialties is mayhaw jelly, made from mayhaws grown right here at Richland Creek Farm. We have more than 60 mayhaw trees planted near a pond on our lowland farm, and we grow the Maxine variety a later-blooming mayhaw that typically ripens in June.
We jokingly call them our “Junehaws.”
The story of our mayhaws is a uniquely South Arkansas story, and we’re grateful that Arkansas Farm Bureau chose to share it. The article highlights the history and tradition surrounding mayhaws while introducing readers to the people and farms keeping this distinctive Southern flavor alive.

One of the things we love most about farming is the connection it creates between people and the land.
For many people, the food they purchase at a grocery store has traveled a long way before it reaches their table. Visiting a local farm gives you the opportunity to see where your food comes from, meet the people who produce it and learn more about the work that goes into growing and making the foods your family enjoys.
That’s the idea behind the Arkansas Farm Trail.
The Farm Trail features participating farms throughout Arkansas, giving families and travelers a chance to explore the state’s diverse agricultural landscape. At each stop, you can meet farm families, purchase products directly from the farm and create memories along the way.
And, of course, there’s a little fun involved, too!
The Arkansas Farm Trail Passport is your guide to exploring participating farms across the state.
Here’s how it works:
1. Get your passport.
Passports are available at participating farms and county Farm Bureau offices, or you can download and print one at home.
2. Visit participating farms.
Plan a road trip and discover farms throughout Arkansas.
3. Make a purchase.
At each participating farm, purchase a product and ask the farmer to stamp your passport.
4. Collect your stamps.
The more farms you visit and the more stamps you collect, the larger the prize package you may be eligible to receive.
For the 2026 Farm Trail, passports can be stamped from March 28 through November 30, 2026, and completed passports must be submitted by December 4, 2026. Be sure to check the official Arkansas Farm Bureau Farm Trail information before you head out, as farm hours and availability can vary with the season and weather.
