Scuppernong Jelly

Just like muscadines, this is the bronze (green) counterpart to our native purple grape.  It ranges throughout the southeast and is commonly found at old home places growing over arbors and outdoor swings.  My childhood summers consisted of shelling peas under the scuppernong and muscadine vines at my grandparent’s house. We would eat them until our lips tingled!  Richland Creek’s Scuppernong (pronounced scup-anon) Jelly is a beautiful golden color, and like muscadine, has a heady, musky scent.
