As staunch supporters of conservation, Ken and Rhonda have served Union County Conservation District for fifty combined years of service. During their tenure, they have overseen local county programs ranging from beaver control, non-point source pollution remediation, wellhead protection, groundwater use, and most notably the Sparta Aquifer Critical Water Use Area project. Each has given their time and talents to protect Union County’s natural resources and both still serve as active board members. Ken is current board Chair, serving since 1989. Rhonda joined as Vice Chair in 2007.

District Fundraiser
The Union County Conservation District supplements its county and state funding by selling a variety of items and locally produced goods. In addition to the sale of land ownership plat books and shelled nuts during the holidays, it carries the full line of Richland Creek’s jellies and jams, and a partial selection of our frozen fruits. It also hosts our Pumpkin and Gourd Sale each Fall and sells our mayhaw seedlings each Spring. This arrangement offers a convenient location for farm pick-up and helps generate extra income for district activities. Call ahead for pricing and availability.
